VaultSpec Authenticator for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. If your question isn't answered here, email support@vaultspec.in and we'll get back to you, usually within two working days.
Adding an account
Turn on two-factor authentication in the service's security settings. When it shows a QR code, tap + in VaultSpec and scan it, or copy the setup link or key and paste it. On a Mac, paste the setup link or key. Then enter the 6-digit code VaultSpec shows to finish setup on the site.
A code isn't accepted
Codes depend on your device's clock. Make sure the date and time are set automatically, then try the next code. If it still fails, remove the account from the service's two-factor settings and add it again.
Moving to a new phone or computer
Turn on VaultSpec Cloud backup in Settings on your current device. On the new one, choose Restore from VaultSpec Cloud when you set it up, sign in, and enter your vault password. Backups work across platforms, so you can move between iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android.
Backups are encrypted on your device with your vault password before they're uploaded. We can't read them, and we can't open them for you.
I forgot my vault password
Your vault password never leaves your device, so it can't be reset or recovered. If you still have access through Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint unlock, open the app and change the password in Settings. Otherwise, you'll need to erase the vault and set up your accounts again using the recovery codes each service gave you.
Forgot your VaultSpec Cloud account password instead? Use “Forgot Account Password?” on the sign-in screen. That resets your account, but backups made with your old vault password still need that password.
Locking and unlocking
Auto-Lock in Settings chooses how long the app can be in the background before it locks. For your safety, VaultSpec also asks for your vault password every few days (the Password Reminder setting), even if you normally unlock with Face ID or Touch ID.
Deleting your data
Everything stays on your device unless you use cloud backup. To delete your VaultSpec Cloud account and all of its backups, choose Delete Cloud Account in the app's settings or go to api.vaultspec.in/delete-account. See the privacy policy for what we store and for how long.
Report a bug or request a feature
VaultSpec is open source. Open an issue for the iPhone, iPad and Mac app or the Android app, or email support@vaultspec.in. Please don't include your codes, setup keys or passwords.
